QUORA QUESTIONS

Have you ever used Quora? If not, let me tell you IT IS AN AMAZING SITE!! I started using it close to 2 years ago and have helped many people in tough spots and have been asked and found the answer to some very interesting questions! Honestly there is hardly a dull moment on Quora! Recently I was asked the following series of questions and thought I'd share them with you. I'll link my Quora bio so you can check it it out too!!

What is your name? Jena

Born & Raised? Flint Michigan till 1993 moved my freshman year

Drug of Choice? Any opiate, but methadone was my favorite and meth

How long did you use? Opiates for 22 years, meth for 4

How long have you stayed awake from meth? I think 13 days was my longest, I do not advise it

What does meth/opiates feel like? Opiates- this warmth evelopes your whole body like a warm hug from the person you have longed for your whole life has wrapped you safely in their arms, a tingle goes from head to toe, ears get hot, every thing feels safe, calm and life is gonna be ok.

Meth- extreme happy burst of energy and your best friends with the whole world

What led up to your drug use? Opiates- health issues and lots of surgeries

Meth- not having opiates and was in withdrawl

Are drugs popular where you live? Extremely

How were your friends & family effected by your drug use? Anyone I was friends with used too and family I don't really know, I don't have a very good realonship with my immediate family. That is not solely due to drug use, it declined many years before I became a hardcore addict.

What were some of the negative side effects to using meth/opiates for you? Memory loss, I now have social anxiety, I shake due to damage to my nervous system, I can not concentrate and have trouble learning new things

How did you use the drugs? Opiates- by mouth or snorted

Meth- snorted or injected

How would you spend your time while on the drugs? Opiates- went to work, cleaned my home, took care of my 2 girls, etc. I lived a normal life on pills

Meth- being creative and having lots of sex

Have you ever been to a Drug Rehab? Nope

What was your experience with Drug Rehab like? N/A

Have you ever been to Jail/Prison? Yes

What's one of the most Frightening things you went through in active addiction? Drug (Meth) induced Psychosis, being raped and left alone in the woods

Are you willing to share a Drug story/War story when in active addiction? I have on this site

What have you learned having gone through addiction? I'm still learning but one thing is to never judge someone else or their struggles and how they respond to them, we are all human and everyone has pain that we are trying to run from some just handle it better than others

How do you stay clean? Suboxone and my counselor "Anne Sullivan" (not her real name) I'll call her this to protect her identity and because much like Helen Keller in the start of interactions I refused to speak or participate with anything she suggested

Any words of encouragement to anyone out there struggling or anyone out there that knows someone struggling? Just know life gets better and take this one second at a time and do what's best for you not what other people tell you they think you should do or be doing
