In case you didn't know-
Tennessee’s Good Samaritan Law, passed in 2014, protects healthcare providers from civil suit when prescribing naloxone to a person at risk of experiencing an opioid overdose or a family member or friend in a position to assist a person at risk of an overdose.
Furthermore, anyone administering naloxone to someone they reasonably believe is experiencing an overdose is also PROTECTED from litigation under this law.
So CALL 911, administer Narcan, if none is available do sternum rubs while you wait for help to arrive!!
Don't know how to do sternum rubs?
LEARN!!
GOOGLE IT!
WATCH A YOUTUBE VIDEO!!
JUST DO SOMETHING!!
ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!!
Don't leave someone alone who is overdosing! You'll never forgive yourself and more than likely face criminal neglect or possibly manslaughter/murder charges.
ALSO-
Pharmacies are a principal location for the average person to acquire naloxone.
Pharmacists are permitted to dispense naloxone on a standing order, and naloxone is covered by insurance, including TennCare. Furthermore, Tenn. Code Ann. § 63-1-157 passed in 2016, allows pharmacists to dispense naloxone to anyone at risk of an opioid overdose, or to a family member, friend, or close associate of such individuals without a prescription and with “Good Samaritan” legal protection, provided the pharmacist receives training from the Department of Health.
What this basically means is that -
You can get narcan covered by *tenncare, pay only $1.50, from your local pharmacy without a prescription!!
A life is 110% worth spending $1.50
If you don't have health coverage you can still obtain it from a pharmacist.
JUST ASK THEM FOR IT!!
(Closed mouths don't get fed, and non narcaned friends wind up dead!)
Also the state of Tennessee will send to you, by mail, 2 free boxes of Narcan. Simply Google it, you'll find the information.
Narcan is something I believe every drug user should carry or at least know where to get some in the case of an emergency....
I lost someone I loved very very much to an accidental overdose, life isn't the same without my brother here. He may not have been my brother by blood but blood doesn't make you family, love does. I miss my brother so Damn much....he was my night time therapist, best friend and all around just a Damn good guy with a bright future ahead of him and fentanyl took him from this world....
Don't think it won't happen to you or someone you love because it can and will.
Y'all, these streets are not like they used to be, 90% of the pills you run up on out there are pressed with fentanyl.
If your struggling with an opiate addiction please go to a Suboxone or Methadone clinic. Fuck peoples opinions about clinics, im sure they would much rather have you alive seeking treatment than making arrangements for your funeral!
Ill help you find clinics, treatment centers, whatever you need! Just shoot me a message and i got you!
Much love y'all, stay safe out there!!
